Originally from Bahia, Brazil, Contramestre Tucum is currently based in Singapore. He has over 20 years of experience instructing Capoeira classes for all ages from Brazil to Southeast Asia. Contramestre Tucum actively works with the Association of Capoeira Arte Canarana (formerly Capoeira Argola de Ouro) to promote the sport, teaching and performing in local schools and institutions from Singapore to Beijing. His belief in the benefits of Capoeira towards a healthy and happy lifestyle have motivated and inspired hundreds of students to take up interest in the sport.

Classes
Capoeira is a Brazilian martial art combining elements of combat, music, acrobatics and dance. From its humble beginnings as a means of survival to becoming an internationally recognised sport, Capoeira’s popularity continues to grow across the globe today. Recognised as the national sport of Brazil since 1954, Capoeira is an integral part of Brazilian culture and is actively promoted through school programs, national and university tournaments and shows.
